The short answer

Quick answer

The total cost depends on the exact panels and inverter, mounting parts, cables, VAT, delivery, accessories and after-sales terms. Compare the same included items and confirm the current delivered price before recommending or buying a kit.

Compare the complete basket

A headline kit price may exclude delivery, mounting equipment, ballast, cables or accessories. Write down what is included and what the installation requires, then compare like for like across sellers.

Check whether the displayed amount includes VAT and whether delivery is available to your postcode. Ask about delivery access, lead times, damaged-goods procedures and any return costs.

Account for ownership and support

Warranty duration is only one part of support. Read what is covered, who provides service, what proof is required and who pays for collection or labour. Confirm the seller’s current terms rather than relying on a marketplace summary.

If you are calculating resale margin, include payment fees, shipping, customer support, returns, tax treatment and other operating costs. Supplier suggested retail prices do not prove current market value.

Quick answers

Common questions

Does the cheapest kit always have the lowest total cost?

Not necessarily. Delivery, missing mounting parts, warranty support and returns can change the full cost.

Should I publish a supplier quote as a live retail price?

Only after confirming VAT treatment, availability, delivery, included parts and current customer-facing price. Date-check prices before publication.
